At around 12.00pm , our travel agency van came and picked us up from Furama Hotel and took us to Baiyun International Airport. Our MAS flight departed Guangzhou at around 15.05pm and we arrived in Kuala Lumpur around 19.05pm.
I enjoyed my stay in Guangzhou especially trying the various food eg Tim sum, wan tan noodles , beef and fish ball soup and also sampling some of the best Cantonese cuisine ( braised pigeon, roasted suckling pig, crisp fried chicken & goose meat, boiled sliced mushrooms, dumplings etc served in some of the old established Chinese restaurants. The Chinese as this popular saying - we all live in order to eat !
Pictures below were taken at a popular Tim sum restaurant on Foshan , 19km southwest of Guangzhou. Our Tim sum breakfast meal for nine people ( including the van driver) costs less than 200rmb ( Rm100) ! Incredibly cheap and the best Tim sum meal I had tasted i
n this trip.
Many of the old houses in villages near where my father-in-law's birth place had been demolished and gave way to new commercial buildings, factories, shops and apartments etc. Signboards were seen everwhere promoting a new township for locals to invest in both residential and commercial properties - signs of growing affluence after two decades of strong economic growth in most of the major cities and towns located in the east coast of Southern China.
